Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress popular for her work in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her career in showbiz from a young age. Her roles included lead characters in television dramas as early as 16 years old. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film won an Oscar and received critical acclaim. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominated films that feature female stars. Alexandra worked on several notable worldwide and national productions over time. The British biographical feature Control, the Greek dramatic The Dust of Time, and French historical miniseries Napoleon include among those. She also served on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and was also a juror at Cannes Film Festival.
